Giants
If you’re an NFL fan, you’re probably aware that the New York Giants are bringing back some throwback uniforms from the 1960s and 1970s. Throwbacks have been a popular option in the NFL for several years. Some teams only wear them sporadically during the season, while others make them a full-time affair. These teams include Atlanta, Houston, Miami, San Francisco, Washington, and the New York Giants.
There are three main types of uniforms: home, away, and throwbacks. A throwback is generally an exact replica of the team’s previous uni. Its other, gimmick-like features might be the team’s logo, a helmet or some other novelty.

Forrest Gregg made significant changes to the Packers’ uniforms in 1984. He added a “G” logo to the sleeve striping, and also added uniform numbers to each hip.
In honor of the NFL’s 75th anniversary, all teams in the league wore throwback uniforms. The Packers modeled theirs after classic 1937 Lambeau-era uniforms. These uniforms featured a clearly defined collar and gold yokes and helmets.

Chargers
A fan’s favorite NFL team, the Los Angeles Chargers, is bringing back powder blue for their 75th anniversary season. It’s one of the most unique color combinations in sports. The Chargers first wore the powder blue jerseys in 1960. They were worn again for the NFL’s 75th anniversary season in 1994.
While the team wore navy blue in the early 1970s, they returned to the powder blue in 2006. Since then, the Chargers have worn the color 26 times.
In 1973, the helmets were switched from white to navy. During that time, the helmets had different colors for the bolt emblem. One used a gold bolt, while the other had a blue bolt.
In addition to the switch to the powder blue, the Chargers changed their pants as well. They had not worn gold pants for several decades. Originally, the pants had white stripes down the sides, but the Chargers began to add blue to them in the late 1980s.
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn says the new uniforms are a mixture of old and new. Fans will recognize the look from the past, but the new design will also include a numbering font in white and navy, along with a powder blue interior trim.
